Vibrio parahaemolyticus


General:

Clinical: Symptoms range from asymptomatic to a "mild" explosive watery diarrhea, which may be self limited; rare blood or mucous. Develops 5~72hrs following exposure. Headache, abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting, and/or low-grade fever may persist 72hrs or more. May cause wound infections in those exposed to contaminated seaweater.
