Tanycytic Ependymoma (Variant of Ependymoma)
General, Neuroimaging, & Gross: (See Ependymoma)
Microscopic: So named because its spindly, bipolar elements resemble tanycytes. Tumor cells are arranged in fascicles of variable width and cell density. Ependymal rosettes are usually absent, and pseudorosettes are vaguely delineated. Much more common in the spinal cord. Differential diagnosis includes astrocytic lesions.
