Crithidia test
General: The Crithidia" genus of trypanosome protozoa contains the species Crithidia luciliae, which has been shown useful in the identification of anti-dsDNA antibodies — thusly termed the crithidia test. More specifically, C. luciliae'' is used as a substrate to which a test serum is applied. Following a wash, a labeled anti-human antibody is applied.
