Clear Cell Ependymoma (Variant of Ependymoma)

Microscopic: Display an oligodendroglioma-like appearance with a clear perinuclear halo. More common in the supratentorial compartment of young patients. They retain ependymal and perivascular rosettes. A subtype previously classified as Foramen Munro Ependymoma is now recognized as a central neurocytoma in most instances (WHO 2000).
Differential diagnosis includes oligodendroglioma, central neurocytoma, clear cell carcinoma, and hemangioblastoma.
